French oldhammer Day 2019

Spring coming back is a good time to put back some life here too:

Last week end the French Oldhammer Day took place for the 3rd time (i guess) in Metz. The occasion form e to get painting and most importantly share another great time with great lea lovers.

The supreme patriarch of the brood, Nico, building a 3D Space Hulk, i decided to join with an Ultramarines boarding party. The original plan was to have 10 more or less men but a series of unfortunate events and my ability to organize made them 9. No big deal, the inquisitor painted for the 2015 edition was ready to work again.

To honour Nico's amazing board, my team is on clear bases, but they will probably get something more classic soon.

Nico has painted a big bunch of old rare metal Genestealers. His ship probably hosts almost everyone available in France now

i'm ashamed to say all my pictures of my fellow JB displaying his amazing Scythes of the Emperor Terminators are hideous, and i was to focused on my control of the Genestealers facing Nico's Blood Angels to take pictures. Do check their respectives blogs (links below) for they are absolutely gorgeous.

After Space hulk, we've explored an industrial zone made with a huge amount of sceneries from Jb and Adrien. Using Necromunda rules with roleplay elements et various NPCs, this multiplayer game took most of the day but man was it good. i feel so lucky to having been able to play in such environement.

Adrien played a Rogue Trader game hosted by JB last year, and i think it was the first time for him to be in charge of everybody's amusement. i'd sign for another round anytime! Sceneries were filled with NPCs all with their own little story to interact with. My Goliath gang had to find proteins to be able to make their everyday score of push ups in peace. Despite not managing to get to the butcher (damned van saar), i gathered enough dead bodies to grind in my blenders a few days!

Thank you gain Adrien for this great game and all the sceneries and miniatures, and thanks to the mates who gave life and death to it. What a ride!

J'ai un planning chargé...

In addition to Nids, a got a couple of various periods Eldars hanging around the desk, result for the eternal interest for old lead, which were given away in diverse occasions. That right, none of these were bought, rather offered or traded along the way.

in the meantime, Nico was hosting a WFB 3rd campaign with another groupe of people. 3D map, old school armies and campaign actions to determine the fate of the Empire in Flames

You won't see so many Fimirs in one place everyday..

As a closure, my friend JB and i played Epic 1st edition. I play the modern version, Epic: Armageddon from time to time, but thanks to JB who brought his amazing titans and all the cards and templates, and Nico who gave us great sceneries, i've been able to try the ancestor at last.

Despire its age, the game rolls out. It emphasize big battles with good mortality to allow you tofield massive armies without playing the whole day. Moreover it allows to mix forces more easily than his heir.

All these games took place in great atmosphere, very fun and benevolent with people enjoying the moment they share. I brought some miniatures but as always i'm impressed by our friends commitment to the other's amusement by bringing such amount of miniatures and sceneries. These moments are a luxuary i intend to enjoy as often as possible in the future.

A great gaming Week End in Metz !

OK folks, so like last year, I attended a gaming WE in the city of Metz last week. It was the occasion for me to meet good gaming buddies and to play some games I don't get to play often enough, using stuff I had painted and not used yet !We were hosted by Nico and his gaming club and enjoy the wonderful activities he had prepared for us !

Hi ! Here the report of our annual meeting in my home town Metz. As usual, hosted by my club Blitz57 during a large wargame convention : Les Arènes du Graoully. This year, 15 Gentelmen presented and/or participated to numerous games systemes like : Mighty Empire, WFB 3rd Ed, Space Hulk, Necromunda, Titan Legion and Gaslands Mighty Empire / WFB : Empire in Flams Campaign Background.
